But, overall, it's a great commuter that will get you to work and keep running.
2007 KIA SPECTRA CODE
And a check engine light does keep popping on, even when you fix the code problem. It's a commuter car so it does not speed up too quickly. It is not something you can do at home - you will to take it to an auto shop. Clutch does wear out and have to be replaced. Now, the front engine compartment is clustered since it is a manual. The great thing about these is you can replace your own brakes when they go out. If the heater blower does go out (mine did) it's a 10 minute fix that you can do for yourself. The heater and air conditioning works like a charm and quickly.

The 5 speed manual is great for handling the ice and snow covered roads in the mountains.
2007 KIA SPECTRA FULL
It goes over 350 miles on a full tank (freeway driving). The vehicle holds a 10 gallon tank so filling up is not that much. Handles great on corners and is a smooth ride. The sun visors are too small and pointless. I have to make sure they are handled with care. The door handles are also very flimsy and very breakable. The doors are very light and feel as though the slightest impact would most likely total the vehicle. The A/C is very noticeable when running, causing just a slight lag in the car's performance.
2007 KIA SPECTRA MANUALS
The manual transmission seems difficult for finding gears at times in comparison to other manuals I have driven. They seem a bit small for the size of this car body. If you get the timing belt replaced you will also have to replace the water pump - it is a given. The interior is very cheap but it is understandable since this car was made for efficiency and not necessarily comfort. The paint is low quality and road gravel scuffs and dings will show up on the body if not taking caution. We seem to go through a lot of tires, but that has to do with the amount of driving we do.
2007 KIA SPECTRA DRIVER
The latch to open the fuel compartment sits nicely on the driver side floor for easy access, along with a trunk button on the left side of the dashboard As a Mom, it's helpful to just glance and know where everything is. Everything is very clearly marked under the hood of the car to where all the fluids are. I just use a sponge with a cleaner and it wipes up with ease. The stereo has 3 different channels AUX/FM/AM I can listen to my mp3's or program my favorite FM/AM stations along with speaking on the phone hands free. The steering is very sooth and efficient. There is a generous amount of leg room, even for my six foot plus tall husband. And it only takes $20 to fill the gas tank. There are a lot of little storage areas in this car that are great for short or long trips. Being a female I am able to replace parts, such as headlight bulbs etc, with ease. The space in the trunk and having the option to lay back seats down for (skis, fishing poles or small pieces of lumber). I would say the reliability and affordability are just a couple of things that attract people to this car.įuel efficiency and reliability. This 4 door sedan fits my family of five nicely for now and I would definitely buy another one. The timing belt - I have been told if it goes out the whole top of the motor has to be replaced so have it replaced before the miles get too high. Couple other things that could be better: the layers of paint seem very thin, but understandable with the price of the car. I also love the digital tire pressure warning I get on the dash as well as the trip odometer that allows me to keep track of my trips and the overall mileage. The trunk is very spacious - fits camp chairs and a big cooler all at once. I love that I can get somewhere in a hurry without actually seeing the fuel gauge move. I dislike the seats - they are cheap but nothing a nice quality cover can't remedy. The fuel efficiency, the smooth ride, and the responsive steering are awesome for the money. The car is quick to get up and go and has a good stop without noticeable wear. If I had known I would get such efficiency and reliability I would have parked my large SUV and bought the KIA compact a long time ago.
